American Society of Civil Engineers
The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) was founded in 1852, making it America's oldest national engineering society. The organization represents more than 140,000 members worldwide. ASCE seeks to serve its members by developing leadership, advancing technology, advocating lifelong learning and promoting the profession of engineering. Andrew Lonnie Sikes, PE, RPLS has been a member of ASCE since 1969. Prior to that he was an active member of ASCE Student Chapter at Texas A&M University. Mr. Sikes has been a member and chairman of a number of ASCE National Committees.
Texas Section of American Society of Civil Engineers
The Texas Section of the ASCE is one of the largest and most active Sections of the National ASCE. Established in 1913, the Texas Section is headquartered in Austin. The organization is committed to promoting, encouraging and recognizing civil engineering excellence and professional growth. Andrew Lonnie Sikes, PE, RPLS has actively supported the functions of the Texas Section. As a student, he represented the student chapter at Texas A&M. As a professional, Mr. Sikes has presented numerous papers at Texas Sections Annual Meeting.
Houston Branch of American Society of Civil Engineers
Founded in 1943, the Houston Branch is the second largest ASCE Branch and would rank as the 59th largest section of the 65 sections. The local branch provides local contact with 1,200 ASCE members assigned to the Branch. It offers a number of committee activities, monthly meetings and a liaison with local government entities. Andrew Lonnie Sikes, PE, RPLS and A. Lonnie Sikes II, PE have been active members in the Houston Branch since 1974. Mr. Sikes is the founding chairman of the Geomatics Committee of the Houston Chapter. It is believed that this is the only surveying committee in an ASCE Branch.
American Council of Engineering Companies
The American Council of Engineering Companies is the only national organization devoted exclusively to the business and advocacy interests of engineering companies. The organization promotes the business interests of the engineering industry to Congress, federal agencies, and international organizations.
Texas Council of Engineering Companies
Established in 1966, the Texas Council of Engineering Companies, Inc. (TCEC) is the only statewide organization committed to the business of consulting engineering. Headquartered in Austin, Texas, the organization is comprised of 300 member firms. The group is devoted to the advancement of the practice of consulting engineering, to the promotion of private enterprise, protection of public welfare, and to the improvement of the economic status of professional engineers engaged in the practice of consulting engineering.
Houston Council of Engineering Companies
Founded in 1980, the Houston Council of Engineering Companies represents private consulting engineers. The organization provides a forum for the interchange of ideas, a source of technical information and expertise and a political voice for engineering interests in the Houston metropolitan region. In addition, the group works to advance the interests of the private practicing engineer as a whole in a way that no single firm can do on their own.

Texas Society of Professional Surveyors
The Texas Society of Professional Surveyors (TSPS) was founded in 1951 and has grown to more than 2,300 registered surveyors, surveyors-in-training, students and associate members. The organization seeks to educate and inform the public of the integral role of surveyors in our society. TSPS provides a strong and dynamic opportunity for surveyors to learn and teach.
Texas Society of Professional Surveyors, Gulf Coast Chapter
The Texas Society of Professional Surveyors (TSPS), Gulf Coast Chapter is a non-profit organization covering a ten county region throughout greater Houston. The mission of the Chapter is to aid and contribute to the education of its members and the general public in attaining high surveying standards, both technically and ethically; and to provide a central headquarters and a closer association of its members. The Chapter also upholds the mission of TSPS which is to advance the profession of Surveying on a local level.

University of Houston, College of Technology
University of Houston offers a Bachelor of Science degree in the field of Surveying Engineering Technology. The objective of the program is to provide graduates with quantitative knowledge and practical skills. The degree is the foundation for registration as a registered professional land surveyor (RPLS).
Professional Surveyors Educational Foundation, Inc.
Professional Surveyors Educational Foundation, Inc. (PSEFI) is a non-profit corporation founded for the purpose of fostering educational opportunities for surveying education. The organization funds college level educational programs that address the needs of the future surveyors of Texas. PSEFI currently raises and gives $65,000.00 per year to the University of Houston in support of the schools BS in Surveying on the main campus.

REGULATORY AGENCIES
Texas Board of Professional Engineers
The Texas Board of Professional Engineers (TBPE) is the official agency responsible for the licensing and policing the practice of engineering in Texas. This includes the practice of engineering surveying. The agency publishes rules of practice and rosters of licensees.
The engineering professionals of Andrew Lonnie Sikes, Inc. are registered with this Board.
Texas Board of Professional Land Surveying
The Texas Board of Professional Land Surveying (TBPLS) is the official agency responsible for the licensing and policing the practice of professional land surveying in Texas. This does not include the practice of engineering surveys. The agency publishes rules of practice and rosters of licensees.
Andrew Lonnie Sikes, PE, RPLS served three governors of Texas as a member of this Board. The surveying professionals of Andrew Lonnie Sikes, Inc. are registered with this Board.
National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying
The National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES) is a national non-profit organization. The organization consists of state and national engineering and surveying licensing boards. NCEES develops, scores, and administers the examinations used for engineering and surveying licensure throughout the United States.
Andrew Lonnie Sikes, PE, RPLS represented the TBPLS in this organization for over 10 years. He was the Vice President, Southern Zone of NCEES in 1995-1997.
